CONNECT • INSPIRE • EMPOWER

The Joy of Reading is central to the mission of the Noble Neighbor! We know the excitement a youth experiences with a new book that is a key ingredient to a youth accepting the challenge of literacy.
The Noble Neighbor is working to preserve this joy through challenges like book bans, book deserts, and other obstacles to youth literacy. Join our Joy of Reading Campaign as the Noble Neighbor continues to connect youth with author visits and free books!
The Noble Neighbor is seeking to raise $50,000 in our 10 month Joy of Reading Campaign!
We will use this $50,000 to support:
- Author visits to St. Louis area schools
- Books donated to author visit attendees
- Operations and initiatives supporting youth literacy
Pillars of Campaign
The Freedom to Read
Book bans have been a hot topic in recent years across the nation. During the Joy of Reading Campaign, the Noble Neighbor will explore the relationship between book bans and youth interest in books
Access to Books
Many youth in our community face barriers to access to books including lack of libraries within walking distance and the absence of books in the home. Noble’s mission of connecting youth with books will be examined through the campaign
Reading for Fun
Rates of leisurely reading for youth have plummeted in recent decades. Through the Joy of Reading Campaign, the educational and physical development consequences will be discussed
